Edlyne Records' artist and LKT's manager, Emibrian dies

Edlyne Records' Artiste/Repatour manager (A&R), artist, and LKT's manager, Emmanuel Okoi, better known as Emibrian, has died. Emibrian (pictured above with his wife) died today January 15th at Agege General hospital after weeks of battling an unknown ailment, which was later identified as poison. Reports say that series of tests were conducted to ascertain the nature of his ailment without any result until one last one that revealed the true picture as food poisoning. Plans were already in place to fly him out of the country when he died today.

Today is exactly one month he married his wife Jennifer Ejinkonye at the Ikoyi registry. They had been planning their white wedding when he suddenly fell ill. Emibrian was in his early 30s. So sad. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

    4. You people can really be shallow shaaaaaa, that's a good question becos food poision is vague.it can be intentional or he had something that didn't sit right with his tummy

      Delete
    5. Please stop being so rude. The question is valid. It could be food poisoning where he ate eomething that had expired or something OR he could have been intentionally poisoned.
So sad.. I pray God comforts those he left behind

    6. My thoughts exactly..naija ppl hear poison and they lose their sense of reasoning, intentionally or due to ignorance..food poisoning ( botulism) is a natural occurrence that happens everywhere in this world, so unless the Drs say its substance poisoning then there's no foul play...but I trust Naija ppl, there always has to be some underlying malicious/diabolical/superstitious reason behind every death..soon fingers will be pointed at his aunt/uncle in the village, detractors, or even his grieving wife..may his soul REST IN PEACE

Nigeria medical system is nothing to write about, common food poisoning can not be detected, gosh some death are preventable in nigeria, but due to incompetent doctors and lack of modernized medical equipment people are dying like chicken.

    1. Was going to ignore this comment but the incompetent doctors part didn't let me. Oga or madam fingerprint... Why you no come read the medicine so that at least we'll have one competent doctor. Do you even know how hard it is to study or practice medicine with not so optimal conditions. Blame the government and praise the Doctors for trying with nothing.. Anyway...let me not take this too personal. RIP emibrian. Sad.

    2. Why is the truth too bitter for pple esp on this blog, anon 12:24am,even if u are a doctor so 'perfect',why should u deny dia are incompetent doctors in this country?infact dey are more!
Is it not incompetence that makes docs here be treating u for a completely diff ailment leaving wats eating u up?
Its sheer incompetence dat has made pple lost faith in our med system dey take their folks abroad for treatment!
And its incompetence that has caused the death of this fine young man,cos common logical reasoning of action and counter reaction' should have made dem conduct poisoning test on him before it got out of hand!its not about going to suffer in med sch burning midnyt candle, its abt common sense..which applies to every profession.enuf said...
      RIP Emibrian!

    3. @anon12:24am abeg make we hear word u sorry excuse of a doctor! U think it is only Nigerian doctors who operate under sub-optimal conditions in SSA abi? While we agree that the system (government) isn't providing the best working conditions for doctors, u lot must also own up to the fact that it is only an infinitesimally small number of Nigerian doctors who should even be addressed as such. Rubbish!

      Delete
    4. Anon 12:24am, why is that some people prefer a particular(rush) doctor than the other? Have you ever been/seen a doctor who (all the time) give wrong diagnosis? Don't wanna relate my ordeal... I rest my case *Floetry in motion*

  40. Any Igbo man wey die, na person kill am. Food poison may not have been the handiwork of anybody. Nigeria eat all kinds of contaminated adulterated and unregulated food everyday...to the mercy of GOD. Advanced countries do have outbreaks from time to time from spinach, tomatoes and even cantaloupes have killed people after being hospitalized. Now somebody who may not be able to defend himself/herself will be accused for killing this man ever.

mr brian i dont even know what to say,i only heard of your sickness yesterday from your boss and i called your phone but you never picked,i pinged your boss to know if you have a new number, after hours he called me to say that you are gone....that damn news still sounds funny to me but hey i remember that the only sure thing in life is death, maybe that will keep me strong, sliver and gold we had none but we always believed that one day everything will be better, its too sad that you wont be alive to see how successful i will become in my music career but now i have more reasons not to give up,many people out there might not know you but i wish they knew you, some people you worked with dont even know you very well,i still remember when your brother fell sick,we prayed and prayed and he later became fine,i didnt have money to help with the hospital bills so all i did was to pray because i knew you were just a hustler and had little or no money to sort out different bills....a wonderful friend was what you were,i only knew you for like a year but we did alot of things together, always discussing about the industry and how to make things work.....you loved your job so much, you are one of the reason why i started driving in Nigeria and helped me kill my phobia for driving,i still remember that day hahaha now am like a taxi driver in Lagos cuz i know every damn place and now drives like a typical Lagos guy, cursing everyone while driving lol...na you Ginja you me ohh..you didnt care if i no sabi drive, you said' nwanne start this motor lets go and i did lol.....brian even when you come to my house angry because of whatever that was disturbing you,you always left happy because i also know how to ginja you hehe, with tears in my eyes now,i know i cant cry for ever but for the fact i know i wont see you again that is what makes me sad,you showed me great support and i thank GOD that i showed you my own lil support while you were alive but i wish you would have lived longer so we can achieve all our dreams in this hussle.....ORIGINAL BADMAN FROM ZIOn,a real Nigerian,a man that spoke alteast 4 different Nigerian languages, you are a star!!

  67. What a waste of life. .another preventable death! Fellow Nigerians resident in NIgeria kindly DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT take your loved ones to any of these Lagos state hospitals, always try in the following order :Federal teaching hospital (e.g LUTH, UCH )-Federal Medical Centers (FMCs)-State teaching hospitals (e.g LASUTH, ABSUTH)-Huge private hospitals -then anyhow private hospitals and general hospitals....no matter how flimsy d ailments look. Then read up read up, not everyone can afford to fly out but you anyone with a gsm phone can google 'headache&fever' and at least have an idea what they are dealing with.
Ask the doctors and nurses what they are doing for your loved ones. U have a right to know, and be updated as things go on...

  87. I am a doctor and I am proudly Nigerian but practice in d states. Doctors r better than each other same as lawyers. That's y in medicine u refer patients to other doctors that r specialists when u r lost and that is normal. So the system backs you up with a strongly network of experts so u can function better. But a critical part of care is lab and radiological support which are lacking in Nigeria. Nigerian doctors r trained with foreign texts but lack foreign tech. That is a recipe for disaster. U cannot treat a stroke without a ct scan of d head
